Brian Eno Teams With Paul Stolper Gallery for Color Changing Turntable
Brian Eno has just about done it all in the music world. The highly revered musician, producer, and visual artist is known for his ambient creations that have penetrated music genres for 50 years. Having worked with everyone from icons David Bowie and John Cale to modern-day greats Damon Albarn and James Blake, the talented artist has now ventured into the world of record players.
Eno has teamed with Paul Stolper Gallery – where much of his recent work has been displayed – for a limited edition turntable that changes color. The record player has a system of LED lights implanted on the base and platter that change color with the music, giving listeners a visual element to their favorite records.
“The light from it was tangible as if caught in a cloud of vapor,” Eno said about the final product. “We sat watching for ages, transfixed by this totally new experience of light as a physical presence.”
Each turntable is engraved with a serial number and Eno’s signature. Only 50 of these turntables are available through Paul Stolper Gallery, with the price undetermined at this stage.
