Kate Beckinsale Returns to Action in ‘Jolt’
While Kate Beckinsale might be most well known for her roles in romantic comedies like Serendipity or dramas like her most recent Amazon Prime show The Widow, her filmography also includes a long line of action flicks including Van Helsing, the Total Recall reboot, and the Underworld series. This summer, she returns to her action roots in Amazon Prime’s Jolt.
Beckinsale is set to play a woman named Lindy who has a seriously out-of-control anger-management problem that gets a little too out of control after the death of her lover. In a John Wick-like rage, she decides to dish out some punishment on those responsible, and it looks like it’s going to be a treat. You can watch the full trailer below:
A bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After the first guy she’s ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their chief suspect.
Starring alongside Beckinsale are Stanley Tucci (Spotlight), Jai Courtney (The Suicide Squad), Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man), and Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise), but between Beckinsale and all the high-quality action sequences that Jolt promises, there are so many reasons why we’re excited about this flick.
Jolt is set to be released on July 23rd, only on Amazon Prime Video.
